Your role:

Loora is the first-ever personal AI English tutor, always available to talk about whatever you want, give you immediate feedback, and guide you on your journey to fluency. We are looking for some ‘real’ (human) teachers to join our team!

We are looking for an expert in teaching English, who has experience working across different educational settings and with learners from a variety of language backgrounds. Our ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, can build effective and engaging course content, and understands the unique challenges of digital education.

If you’re interested in EdTech and excited to have a direct impact on learners from all over the world, we want to meet you! Join us now, as we are still small and agile, to truly impact and influence the product we’re building!

Your day-to-day will be:

  • Design the curriculum and internal pedagogical resources for Loora.
  • Create content for various features spanning implicit and explicit teaching of English, as well as assessments of learners’ language knowledge.
  • Provide English-related pedagogical support to multiple teams.
  • Help develop and implement efficient processes for scaling the creation of educational content.
  • Collaborate with our Product and Engineering teams to formally evaluate student performance and progress.

Requirements:

  • Native English speaker – a must.
  • At least 4 years of experience teaching English as a second language.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in languages, linguistics, education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience creating lesson content and planning your own lessons.
  • Pedagogical expertise: you are familiar with external standards for teaching English (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL), and can design course curricula that effectively scaffold the learning experience for learners with a particular language background.
  • Analytical thinking: you can think about language in an analytical way. For example, you excel at breaking down grammatical concepts into smaller parts for the purposes of teaching and assessment.

Even better if you have:

  • Previous experience in designing and delivering language courses within the digital language learning space.
  • Experience teaching English as a second language to diverse groups of people and/or in a variety of countries.
  • Experience in the E-learning industry.
  • Passion for digital education.
